Soundtrack: Augie March

Some days you just really don't want to get out of bed.  Then later, once you have gotten out of bed, you really only want to go back to bed.  When you can't go back to bed, because you have a job, or classes, or basic expectations of you as a human being, it's best to find an alternative.  For me a lot of the time it's listening to "One Crowded Hour" by Augie March.  Usually two or three times in a row.

My friend Rohan introduced me to this song and I instantly loved it.  The next time you're feeling like you need some instant zen, put in your headphones and turn this on.  I promise it's the closest your ears can get you to this:

Enjoy!

Time for a Happy Face

Tony Bennett and James Taylor singing "Put on a Happy Face" was just the little something extra that I needed to make today happen.

What's making your day?

Soundtrack

It's been pouring with rain all day here.  This cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Boxer" by the infinitely fabulous Mumford & Sons has been the perfect soundtrack to this drippy grey concrete kind of day.  I found it on Spotify, but here's a video of them performing it live:

I've already listened to it three times today.  Going for a fourth right now!
